Digital Tire Pressure Gauge | Backlit LCD, 0 to 150 PSI
$16.99
Check tire pressure in 10 seconds, before a drive instead of after a blowout scare.
A backlit digital gauge for the glovebox. Press it on the valve, read the number, done. Under-inflated tires wear faster, use more gas and handle worse. This is the cheapest fix in the kit.
Details
- Backlit LCD, readable at night
- Reads PSI and BAR
- Range 0 to 150 PSI, 0.1 PSI resolution
- Battery included, about 5.4" long
Part of the New Driver Kit. Buy it there with the other five for $79.99.
What's in the box
- Digital tire pressure gauge
- Battery, already installed
How to use it
- Unscrew the valve cap.
- Press the gauge straight onto the valve until the hiss stops and the number holds.
- Compare it to the PSI on the sticker inside the driver's door, not the number on the tire sidewall.
- Add air at a station if you are low, then check again.
Who it's for
- New drivers: a 10-second check before a highway drive.
- Parents: the one tool that actually gets used if it lives in the glovebox.
- Anyone who has been surprised by a soft tire: this is cheaper than a tow.
Good to know
- Door-jamb sticker is the right PSI for your car. The sidewall number is the tire's maximum, not the target.
- Check when the tires are cold, before a long drive.
- Backlight is there for night and for poorly lit station air machines.
